Acorn Aluminium has been appointed by Caddick Construction to deliver a full façade package for the landmark Stone Yard development in Birmingham, a multi-million-pound mixed-use regeneration scheme bringing new homes, retail, and leisure spaces to the heart of the city’s Digbeth district.
Due to start on site in March 2026, with design development already underway and production scheduled for early 2026, the project reinforces Acorn’s reputation for delivering high-performance aluminium façade systems on complex, large-scale developments.
The contract covers the design, manufacture, and installation of Technal façade systems across approximately 6,800m², including 5,600m² of curtain walling and 1,200m² of windows and doors.

The specification includes Technal Tental curtain walling, Soleal Next 75 windows, and Titane Next/Soleal Next doors, designed to deliver a U-value of 1.2W/m²K, a G-value of 0.4, and acoustic performance up to 42dB Rw. Systems will be supplied in RAL 8014 and 8019, providing a coordinated visual finish across the different blocks.
Acorn’s scope also includes perforated panels, fully integrated within the overall façade design. The design team is managing all interface detailing, thermal and acoustic performance, and structural support requirements in-house to ensure a cohesive approach from concept through to completion.
