Acorn Aluminium reports that the installation of fenestration, as part of phase three of the Tritax Symmetry development at Symmetry Park, Biggleswade, is progressing well.
More than 20 weeks into the programme to supply advanced products for five new industrial and office units, Senior SF52 curtain walling – including brise soleil brackets – and Pilkington high-performance glazing are currently being installed.
Acorn is delivering 3,100m² of curtain walling and SPW501 thermally broken commercial doors to support the scheme’s stringent sustainability goals. These include net zero carbon emissions in line with the wider ambitions of Symmetry Park.
Paul Stevens, Managing Director, Acorn Aluminium, said: “We are making great progress with this shining example of sustainable industrial development from Tritax Symmetry at Biggleswade.
“It’s great to see the project taking shape with the installation of our Senior SF52 curtain walling and SPW501 door systems. With excellent thermal and acoustic properties, these are the ideal products to help Tritax Symmetry achieve its net zero sustainability goals.”
Delivering uniform, 52mm sightlines across both low-rise and high-rise applications, Senior SF52 curtain walling offers exceptional thermal performance that surpasses current building regulations.
Fully tested to CWCT and EN13830 standards, it is engineered to withstand demanding environmental conditions, ensuring durability and performance.
The SPW501 commercial door is designed for high-traffic applications. The thermally broken polyamide aluminium framing system supports a range of configurations, including automatic operation, to enhance user experience and accessibility.
Designed by AJA Architects, the latest phase of Symmetry Park will offer state-of-the-art facilities for future occupiers, combining modern design with low running costs and a reduced environmental footprint. Acorn was appointed to the project, which places energy-efficiency and environmental responsibility front and centre, by longstanding partner and main contractor, VolkerFitzpatrick.
“Symmetry Park is the paving the way for sustainable industrial and logistics facilities, and we’re delighted to collaborate with our long-standing partner, VolkerFitzpatrick, once again, on this ground-breaking project,” Paul continued.
“As an environmentally responsible contractor, it demonstrates our unrivalled expertise in seamless curtain walling delivery and reinforces our key role in sustainable industrial development.”
