Acorn Aluminium has been appointed by McAleer & Rushe to deliver a full façade package for the landmark India Street development in Glasgow, a multi-million-pound mixed-use project being developed for long-term client Vita Group, following the successful partnership on Gough Street.
Due to start on site in February 2026, with design development already underway, the project strengthens Acorn’s growing presence in Scotland and reinforces its reputation for delivering high-performance aluminium façade systems on complex, large-scale developments.
The contract covers the design, manufacture, and installation of Metal Technology façade systems across approximately 35,600m², including curtain walling, windows, and doors. Working closely with McAleer & Rushe and Vita Group, Acorn is developing a façade solution that combines architectural design intent with technical performance and long-term durability.

The specification includes Metal Technology System 17 curtain walling, 5-35Hi+ windows, and 10-35Hi doors, designed to deliver a U-value of 1.3W/m²K, a G-value of 0.5, and light transmittance of 70%.
Acorn’s scope also includes perforated panels, fully integrated within the overall façade design. The design team is managing all interface detailing, thermal and acoustic performance, and structural support requirements in-house to ensure a cohesive approach from concept through to completion.
